Letter Content
The tenets of the Ankh-Morpork & District Scouting Association (unaffiliated) hold good in any society, and we of the Ankh-Morpork Consulate (Wincanton) can only but recommend them to you.
The Consul is mindful that not only does he embody the commercial and legal aspirations of the great City he is proud to represent, but also the cultural and social, as well. It was therefore with huge pride that he witnessed the birth of the Discworld Scouting Movement here in the town of Wincanton. Our societies differ, Ankh-Morpork being the older and commercially more active perhaps than the town of Wincanton, but this town has its own unique message to take back to its senior partner, a small voice perhaps, but a vibrant one, and that message? Perseverance.
Regardless of the circumstance, regardless of tumults that history has bestowed on the town, Wincanton has always 'Endeavoured to Persevere' In this the Year of the Reversed Ptarmigan (RW: 2007) let our two great City States become one in the Scouting Movement.
Its motto, its ethos, its aims, are compatible to both, and beneficial to all, IN OMNIA PARATUS Ready for Anything and indeed we all are.
